The Foster City Lagoon was designed to withstand a storm of such severity that it is likely to occur only once each century, and provides maximum drainage security for Foster City. Stormwater enters the storm drain system, through curb inlets and catch basins, and is collected throughout the city before flowing to the Foster City Lagoon and being pumped into the bay.
The lagoon is about 6ft deep, 69° during the summer (and 60° in the winter, so no falling in!)
We went paddle boarding there during the Fall and packed a picnic to enjoy on the water – it was sunny, serene and beautiful.
